Travesty

Documentary for WNET/Thirteen PBS

I was honored to direct and edit this television documentary (airing in February 2024), commissioned by WNET for their All Arts programming initiative. Trans and non-binary dancers explore their place in a lineage of drag and gender-play rooted in the “travesty” productions of 1870s Paris, while wrestling with the restrictions of the contemporary dance world.

I edited this presentation that got this crucial film on the great need for birthing centers in Black neighborhoods funded.

Lifetime

I loved creating this series of short documentaries for Lifetime Television, profiling inspiring women in sponsor-friendly short format pieces. I produced, directed, and edited these spots for network use across A&E and History channel as well.

The Come Up

I recently worked as a series editor on Freeform Network’s first docu-series, The Come Up, chronicling six young folks’ journeys through creative pursuits and into adulthood in New York City.

Narrative Films

My short films have been screened at festivals around the world and at the National Museum of African American History and Culture’s Inaugural Film Festival at the Smithsonian.

I worked as an editor for artist Kehinde Wiley on multi-screen installation art films.

I worked as a senior producer, director, and creative director at Logo, MTV, and Comedy Central, and Paramount Digital, leading departments creating content across platforms for their many networks, garnering Emmy nominations for digital projects for The Daily Show and Ru Paul’s Drag Race. These are a few of my favorites.

DIY

I am an avid DIY enthusiast, so this craft and cooking series for quarantine life was close to my heart. I conceptualized, creative directed the animations, and remotely directed crafting talent over Zoom for a comforting series made during a precarious time.
